We have direct access to the beautiful foothills of the Wicklow Mountains with stunning views of Ireland’s highest waterfall in the Powerscourt Estate, as well as access to the ancestral home of the Earl of Meath, Kilruddery Estate, with over 750 acres to explore on horseback.
Our trekking caters for riders of all levels. We have hacks for the more experienced and ambitious riders who enjoy a trek, but at the same time have the opportunity to have a canter along some of the lovely trails covered, as well as those wishing to enjoy a more gentle and relaxed pace while enjoying the stunning scenery and amazing views of the Wicklow countryside.
Half day picnic ride outs are also available (season dependent), exploring the magnificent Kilruddery Estate.

Country Cottage Stables is a private boutique AIRE (Association of Irish Riding Establishment) riding school, conveniently located close to Dublin, just off the N11 in Enniskerry, Co. Wicklow.
We specialise in providing private one on one and small group riding lessons from novice to advanced riders. Whether you are a seasoned rider or getting back in the saddle, we have the riding programme for you!

Kieran Morrin was born in Co. Dublin, the youngest of a family of eight children, in 1959. He started riding at the age of six and has competed all over Ireland at the national level. Kieran has represented Ireland in show jumping and has competed many times in the RDS Horse Show. The RDS Horse Show is one of the top equestrian events in the world and is a major draw for the top international equestrian champions and horses. He now lives with his present partner of 34 years and their beloved dogs, Bear and Harvey, in Enniskerry, Co Wicklow where they fulfill their passion for horses.
Sophie Moy, a native of Co Wicklow, is Kieran’s right-hand person. As a young girl, Sophie was not at all interested in boys; she was mad about ponies and her love for ponies has stayed with her. She owns her own horses and competes at the National Level. She has a passion for Connemara ponies. About 10 years ago, she joined the Country Cottage Stables (CCS) team and from then CCS has blossomed. Sophie now manages CCS and campaigns the CCS horses. Last year she competed at the RDS.
Niall is our holiday co-ordinator and host. He provides exceptional service to the guests, beginning with their airport pickup and continuing throughout their entire stay. He is the heart of the operation. Niall is an electrical engineer by trade and a Dublin man. He owned and ran a successful business before retiring to the “Good Life” in The Garden of Ireland with his partner and a menagerie of animals. Niall’s passion after horses is his free-roaming hens and of course his Irish terrier Harvey. He has been the National Riding Club Show jumping champion two years in a row and now competes regularly on the dressage circuit.
